Wampanaog
weekend starts off with a Ryan Nutting win.
Story coming..
Nashua
River won by Joel Latorre with his first fish of the year. The Bubba Bassin
Club trail brought us to the Nashua River for the second club tournament of the
year. We had 51 anglers coming out to play on the Nashua River hoping to take
one of the three pay-out spots or maybe even the First Loser's Pool. Joel
Latorre had been fishing a total of 5 times prior to this event and had not
landed a fish yet. On this day, his 6th time out, Joel would take his first cast
and land his first fish of the year on a black and blue Senko. That first fish
was a 3 lb largie and would make it all the way to the weigh-in with him. [More]
Mike
Vining wins the Midweek Season Opener on Lake Winnipesaukee Happy
New Year. And with that Mike Vining picks up just where he left off last year
winning on Winni. Well the morning was cool compared to the day’s past to say
the least. Our long time friend Gerry Blanchette showed up just in time to draw
our winner Mike and Gerry got to see it all. Mike talks to catching his limit
by 11 and on spinner baits. Made a hard decision to trade in his spinner bait
to go to a jerk bait. Working that jerk bait for the rest of the day looking
for that kicker fish.

John
Dean and Jake Faneuf jerks up the winning fish on Massabessic
The season opener for the 2009 Team Bubba trail
started on Lake Massabessic in Auburn, NH on April 21st. The lake has two main
water bodies with one half on the Auburn side and the other on the Manchester
side. We had a terrific turn-out of 39 teams coming out to fish for a little
friendly competition. Massabessic had been iced-out for almost 3 weeks now
giving some of the anglers time to do a little pre-fishing for this one. With
all the home work that was done there still wasn't a boat load of fish caught. [Full

The only kicker of the first 2009 club event edges Marc Hamel's win on BIP. Bubba
Bassin Club started their first tournament for the 2009 trail on Big Island Pond
in Hampstead, NH. The lake is comparably smaller than the rest of the scheduled
waterbodies but it was a good place to start. Taking the very first crown of the
year was Marc Hamel with a final weight of 6.47 lbs. His two largemouth also
included the tournament largemouth lunker that tipped the scales at 4.78 lbs.
Marc caught his first bass at 7:15 and had his limit fish just before 9 AM. He
ended up catching about 10 fish for the day using mostly..Full
