Story by Mike McNamara

What a wonderful piece of water.  We had 62 players on such a wonderful day.  Everyone enjoyed the sunny day.  Morning start off was a little cooler, just ask our polar bear swimmers.  Greg Day was the first to take a dive, followed by Matt Davis joining in the fun (not intentionally).  Bobby (girl) Hurst oversleeps.  Must be getting old.  We all missed him.

Bubba Good Deed:   I also want to take the time here to thank Brian Lafrancois for giving up his weigh in to tow an old buck clear across Squam to his dock.  Brian contacted Rod Laferriere and said “taking one for the team”.  Thank you for your compassion.

 Now for the winners:

Well par for the course, taking first place again in that brand new Skeeter was Alan Denise.  He had his limit by noon using buzz bait and Big Big Senkos.  Good Job old man.  His winning weight was 13.72 lbs.  Damm, wait a moment, the old man also won lunker large mouth with 4.52.

Coming in second place was John Wright with a sweet bag of smallies.  His winning weight was 12.98.  He claims he had his limit by 1:00 pm.   A good thing for him since he didn’t catch anything the rest of the day. It didn’t really matter because his bag of 12.98 would hold second place for him.  He also had a 3.58 lunker small mouth.  Nice bag.  A well deserved and long overdue win.

Third place went to Ed Rivera with 12.32, again all smallmouths.  However Ed didn’t start his day with small mouth.  At one point he had 5 largemouth but once he figured the pattern out for the smallmouth it was the spider grub that brought it home.  Good job Ed.

Fourth place went to Vinny Strazzere with 11.53.  That was a nice bag of smallies.  He had his limit by 10:00 am drop shotting in the cabbage.  Good job.  Our fifth place goes to Gary Croteau with 11.24, almost all largemouths. Gary had his limit by 1:30, all on jigs.  Taking sixth place was Mike McNamara with 10.89 (me).  Good to see you in the winning circle again.  Greg Saulnier placed seventh with a nice bag of smallies. Another one with his limit by 1:00 pm.  Greg used a Carolina Rig, but not just a reg carolina rig, The carolina rig that he was using was a swimming carolina rig. Yeah Bubba.  Rod Taylor with 10.51 took eighth place.  He had his limit by 8:20 am using Senkos.

And finally that coveted First Loser’s position this week goes to Mike McNary with 10.49, all smallmouths. Mike was fishing against his brother, Victor.  Victor hooked up and wham, the fish broke off.  Mike quickly dropped his rig down, a carolina rig and Wham, Mike hooked up and the battle was on. And you guessed it, the same fish that Victor had just lost a few seconds earlier.  Great Job Mike.

Taking home our sponsor giveaways are: Richard Klotz with a bottle of Bass Boat Saver, Rod Taylor wins the Applebee’s gift certificate from Park Ave, Matt Davis takes home the paintball gift certificate from Action Paint Ball, the Berkely baits went home with Rick Wentworth and the winner of a free entry to any midweek goes to Jackie Marsigliano.  Congratulations to all.  Remember to patronize our sponsors.  They do a wonderful job supporting us each week.  Thank you.
