What a cold cold start we had to our 7th
Midweek of the season. Not only was it cold, it was foggy. This caused a
delay in starting for our 38 Bubba’s that came to play. Despite the cold,
and fog and the drama a great time was had by all.
Now on to our winner’s circle:
Taking first place was Mark Miner with a sweet kicker smallmouth for 4.43
giving him a nice bag of 15.32. Mark caught that beauty on a DD22 in 15’ of
water. He also caught a bunch using a Spook.. He had his limit by 8:30am.
Great job and a nice payout for him.
Taking second place was Wayne Gray with 15.18. How many of us think twice
about paying the lunker pool? Well Wayne didn’t think about it today, and
was clear he never catches the big ones, well that was until today. His
second place standing included what would have been the largemouth lunker if
he had been in the pool. Sad moment at the scales for Wayne because he
didn’t play the lunker pool. Still a great fish at 5.32. He caught all his
fish from 1:30 on till the end. Sorry Wayne, we were glad you came and so
isn’t Bill Lentine. As you may guess Bill Lentine ended up with the lunker
largemouth at 4.95.
Our third place spot goes to Victor McNary with 15.07. He had his limit by
9:30am using Crankbatis and Drop Shot in 15 – 20 feet of water. He couldn’t
get a bite in anything lower than 15 feet or deeper than 20 feet.
Fourth was Peter Burkhart, came across early in the morning from the other
ramp but got to the registration late. We shouldn’t have let him play, but
we did. He caught his limit by 11am using tubes and spider grubs in 15 – 20
feet of water. 14.46 gave him fourth place.
Joe Lucarelli took fifth place with 5 smallmouths totaling 14.27. In 6 – 30
feet of water he caught two on Senkos, two on Drop shots and 1 on a rig. He
had his limit by 2pm. Bob Savoie with 14.02 placed sixth. He says he caught
25 keepers and had his limit by 9:30 using green pumpkin spider grubs. He
was fishing in Dennis’s area. Thank you Buddy.
Our fourth place winner from last Midweek, Vinny Strazzere took the coveted
first loser’s spot today with 13.72.
Again we want to thank our sponsors for all of their support. Without them
we wouldn’t be able to do the wonderful things that we do. Taking home this
week’s bottle of Bass Boat Saver was Bill Lentine. Enjoying the paint ball
gift certificate from Action Paintball will be Joe St. Germain. Wayne Gray
was the lucky recipient of the Berkley Baits. Victor McNary will be enjoying
his gift certificate to Applebee’s courtesy of Park Ave and the winner of a
free entry to any 2007 Midweek is Paul Robert.
Thank you all for coming out to play on such a cold and foggy day, but the
moral to the tournament is, Think Lunker – you never know when that big fish
will come your way.
