| Tournament Rules:
All Bubba Bassin Trails are open to
all anglers who hold a valid state fishing license. Those under the age of
16 must have an accompanied guardian who must sign a release waiver to
compete.
Each competitor must register in person with tournament officials at the
registration area no later than 6:40 a.m.. Starting position will be
determined by blind draw at the morning registration.
Safe boating conduct must be observed at all times by all tournament
competitors. Each competitor is required to wear a Coast Guard approved
life preserver. This preserver must be worn any time the combustion engine
is in operation.
The preserver must be strapped, snapped, or zipped securely and maintained
in that manner until the competitor reaches his fishing location and the
combustion engine is Shut Off. Violations of this rule shall be reason for
immediate disqualification.
Competitors are expected to follow the highest standards of sportsmanship,
courtesy, safety and conservation. Any infraction of these fundamental
sporting principles may be deemed cause for disqualification.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR DRUGS (other than those purchased
over-the-counter or prescribed by a licensed physician) are permitted in
the boats or at the weigh-in site. Violation of this rule will be cause
for immediate disqualification.
Only artificial lures may be used. No "live bait" will be permitted. The
only "prepared bait" permitted is pork strips, rinds, etc..
Only one casting, spin-casting, or spinning rod and reel may be used at
any one time. While other rigs, as specified above may be present in the
boat, ready for use, only ONE is permitted in use at any given time. All
bass must be caught live and in a conventional sporting manner.
All outboard motor boats used WILL NOT exceed the horsepower limitations
stated on the U.S. Coast Guard rating plate. All boats are required to
have a U.S. Coast Guard rating plate attached by the boat manufacturer.
BOAT AND MOTOR: For the safety of all contestants, ALL BOATS MUST BE
EQUIPPED WITH SOME TYPE OF IGNITION KILL SWITCH. This ignition kill device
must be attached to the driver's body anytime the combustion engine is
running. Trolling as a method of fishing is prohibited.
Electric trolling motors are to be used only to maneuver or position the
boat.
Every boat must have all required safety equipment. It must also have a
functional bilge pump and livewell space, properly aerated, to adequately
maintain a live limit catch of bass by both fishermen using the boat. Each
boat may be inspected by a tournament official prior to the start of the
tournament.
Fishing on the tournament waters is permitted anywhere except: within 50
yards of another competitor’s anchored boat, unless given permission by
the other competitor.
All angling must be done from the boat.
There shall be only one official checkpoint for the afternoon check-in.
This point will be designated at the 6:45 a.m. meeting before the start of
the tournament. At the time of check-in all boats shall identify
themselves and will proceed immediately to the designated weigh-in area.
Scoring is done with digital scales by pounds and hundredths of a pound.
Only largemouth and smallmouth bass will be counted. Minimum length limit
will be 12 INCHES, measured on a golden rule. Anglers weighing in more
than the daily limit will have their largest fish culled by a tournament
official. For NH waters, prior to July 1st, the limit is 2 fish per angler
at weigh-in. After June 30th, the limit is 4 fish per angler at weigh-in.
Anglers may request a courtesy measure prior to weigh-in. An 8-ounce
penalty will be assessed for each dead fish presented at the weigh-in.
All State Fish & Game Laws/Rules will Apply. (interstate waters/restricted
season)
Bass must not be stringered at anytime during the tournament.
Competitors who are not at the designated checkpoint at the appointed time
shall be penalized at the rate of 1 pound per minute to be deducted from
total weight for the day. Competitors more than 15 minutes late will lose
all weight for that weigh-in.
Violations must be reported to the Tournament Committee prior to the
completion of the weigh-in. Decision of the Tournament Director regarding
tournament rules shall be final.
How the Draw Format Works:
The draw format works like this for the Midweek Draw Trail:
- Everyone (boaters and non-boaters) register in the morning.
- As the boaters register, they pull a number. We then take that
number and put it in a different bin.
- When registration is closed, then we bring up all the non-boaters
who already registered (Non-boaters, be early, 1st Come, 1st Serve).
- Non-boaters then draw a number from the bin that the boaters already
drew.
- Then that non-boater hooks up with the same boater who also drew
that number.
- If a boater's number does not get picked, then he fishes by himself.
- That number is also their launch number.
The draw format works like this for the Club Draw Trail:
- Same as above but boaters are allowed to fish with their own
non-boaters.
Everybody fishes for their OWN fish and pays for their OWN way.
Tournament Fees are as follows;
- Club Draw Trail - $10 for the tournament fee and $10
split lunker. 100% Payback to top 3 anglers (1 time annual membership
fee of $20, anyone can join)
- Midweek Draw Trail - $40 for the tournament fee and
$10 split lunker. 90% Payback on sliding scale for # of boats
(Membership fee not required)
- Team Bubba Trail - $50 for the tournament fee and $10
split lunker. 90% Payback on sliding scale for # of boats (Membership
fee not required)
Standings and Point System:
Standings based on your best 7 out of 10 tournaments.
Tournaments not fished automatically count as a drop.
(this is the same for all trails).
Points:
All Trails based on a Point System.
For the Draw Trails (Club and Midweeks) 1st place is 200 points, 2nd is
198 points, 3rd is 196 pts, etc.
For the Team Trail 1st place is 200 points PLUS your weight rounded to
the nearest whole number. 2nd place is 196 points PLUS your weight
rounded to the nearest whole number. 3rd place is 192 pts PLUS your
weight, etc..
First Losers Pool:
First Loser's Pool is an optional pool that is rewarded to the
first place out of the money, hence, First Loser's. For Example, in
the Bubba Draw trail we pay out 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. So 4th place is
the winner of the FLP as long as they paid for the pool during
registration.
Non-boater Etiquette:
Non-boaters are also expected to follow etiquette and tip the boater
for gas money. This is usually anywhere from $0 to $10. This is up to the
boater and non-boater.
