Absolutely beautiful day on Golden Pond.
The day started off with very cool fall weather under wonderful blue skies
– 37°. I think we saw frost. Bubba Frye you were missed, but we all
realized that the long arm of Bubba is always there.
Now on to our winner’s circle.
Taking first place was Dave and Carrie Fontone with 8 sweet smallies
weighing in at 18.24. We all heard that it was Carrie that caught all the
fish before 10:00 am using a twin tail pumpkin colored grub on a ¼ ounce
football head in 30 – 40 feet of water. Nice.
Second place goes to the team of Alvanos and Zyla. They had 8 smallmouths.
Another nice bag. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to speak with them
to enlighten us with their secrets, but I am sure they had a great time.
Third place winners are McNamara and McNamara with 17.55. Their 6 smallies
and 2 largemouth were all caught on cinnamon spider grubs with lots of
fancy network.
Greg Saulnier and Mike Rogers take fourth place with 16.22. Their 8
smallmouth were caught on Carolina Rigs in 30 feet of water. They also
used pumpkin colored lizards and Senkos. Fifth place team of R. Lentine
and Ed Rivera had 15.14. They said they had a great day and spent all day
getting those 8 fish.
The coveted first loser’s spot goes to Mike Spurr and Deb Ash with 14.46.
They also brought in a 3.75 largemouth for lunker. Way to go Lunker
smallmouth went to the father and son team of Tracy and Tracy Gerbert with
a sweet 4.03 Smallie. Nice Fish.
Again thank you to all for being respectful and responsible to the local
property owners. Squam is always a task that requires an awful lot of
juggling and hoop jumping.
Remember the final team event is September 30th on Winnisquam. The
End of the Year Tournament of Champions is October 28th. All teams that
placed in the top 3 of each Team Bubba event automatically qualify for the
T.O.C. The top 50 teams in the Team Bubba Standings also qualify for the
T.O.C.
