Our first Sweetheart of 2009 and guess
the theme of this event was the ladies take home the cash. As the morning
kicked off the smack was flying. Sweethearts gone bad. LOL We were greeted
to light winds and sun and did I say sun and tons of smallies just waiting
to chew.
As the day winds on we got pummeled with a rain storm. As the weigh in
started, the talk was that not everybody got pummeled by the rain. Those
that were lucky stayed dry. As so many times in the past the smack was
flying at the weight. At the first cast I caught my big fish and our
winner talks to the same things. Sue and Bob Hurst made their first cast
and landed what would be the second lunker of the day anchoring their
winning bag of 14.63. Sue and Bob moved through the day catching and
catching but nothing bigger than that first fish but averaging out 3 ˝
pounds per fish, which is pretty darn sweet and might I add very
impressive. Well done Sue. Bob is lucky he had you in the boat. Thanks for
sharing.
Coming in second one of our many father / daughter teams, Dave Tsao and
Madison Tsao weighing in an impressive bag of 14.53. Averaging just under
that3 ˝ pounds mark, Dave shared that Madison caught the big fish of this
team, which was 3.90. Dave also told us that Madison definitely caught her
fair share of these big smallies. Dave was definitely a proud papa with
that big smile. As the tournament ends and Dave and Madison are on their
way home this reporter got some inside info. Madison got the envelope. I
guess this was the theme because at the end of the weigh-in a bunch of us
saw Bob hand Sue all the envelopes too. Madison and Dave held first place
for the longest time and unfortunately sandbaggers Sue and Bob spoiled
their day.

Well Dave good luck at Ossipee. Good luck to you and John, hope you catch
them all.
Coming in third place James Peake and Kelly McNamara. These two have
become serious sandbaggers. At the scale we find out that they had their
big fish early. But on the water it was all RATS. Well the scale tells all
Sara and I got to see this team working a bed and then leave finally
weighing in a total of 13.73 at the scale along with the two almost four
pounders. Kelly and Jim talked to having a wonderful time. Kelly shared we
were in sweetheart mode. Well done kids, bring your game to the next one.
Coming in fourth place Sonia Trainah and Scott Canelas. This team shared
who caught those bigger ones. Well done Sonia. As they brought their fish
to the scale we got to see two lunkers tipping the scales at 4+. Sonia and
Scott held both lunkers until Sue and Bob weighed in. but still Sonia and
Scott held that first lunker with 4.13 and missed that second lunker by
.01 hundredths. Locking down that fourth place with 14.72.
Good luck at Ossipee along with the old man. Catch them all.
Taking our coveted first loser pool the hubby and wife team of Shane and
Molly Hutchins. Sara and I got to see Molly and Shane on the water and
they were very much into sharing. Thank you. This team talked to
struggling through the day to gain anything more than a 3.49 smallie.
Molly and Shane averaged just under that 3.5 at 3.3. They anchored their
fifth place and first loser win with a 13.49 and a 3.62 smallie anchoring
this bag. Sweet bag.
As it was shared at the launch that we do see a lot of us that are so
willing to help others, again today you could find a Bubba at the end of a
long day out there helping someone else.
Wining a free entry to any 2010 sweetheart tournament Deb O’Toole and
Shawn O’Toole. Winning our Grizz Baits giveaway was Madison and Dave Tsao.
Thanks for coming to play the game. See you on July 11, 2009 on Massabesic.
